II. Accessing Your My Healthy City Account a. Sign Up To sign up for a personal My Healthy City account, click the My Healthy City tab on the top right side of the homepage.
To create a new account, you simply need to provide a valid email address, your name, and create a password.
Then click Start adding information to your page for quick reference to previous research by saving searches, maps, comments on resources, neighborhood boundaries you've created, and your own data that you've uploaded. b. Log in to My Healthy City to Access Your Personalized Page. If you are already a My Healthy City member, type in your email and password to sign in.
You will then be logged in and you will see your personalized homepage, similar to the one below. Note: Click the "Log out" link at the top right corner of the page at any time to log out of My Health City.
Start adding information to your page for quick reference to previous research by saving searches, comments on resources, maps, neighborhood boundaries you've created, and your own data that you've uploaded. III. My Recent Searches If you are logged into My Healthy City, the searches you complete on the website will automatically be saved to your personal account page. a. View a List of Your Recent Searches Click the "more" link at the bottom of the My Recent Searches box to view a complete list of your recent searches.
b. Refer to a Previous Search From the search list, click on the link of any listing to return to the previously created map that corresponds to the link.
You will be directed to your previous map for review.
Note: Click on the My Healthy City tab on any page of the website while you are logged in to return to your My Healthy City homepage.
IV. My Resource Comments My Healthy City allows you to comment on resources for future reference. a. Add Comments to a Resource To add a comment to a resource, from any map results page, click on a resource icon on the map to reveal a resource information box. Then click on the "Add Comment" tab at the top of the information box.
Then enter a title for your comment and start typing in the comment box. To save your comment, click
Click the "My Comments" tab after reviewing the info box for any resource to review your comments.
b. Refer to Comments on Resources Your comments will also be saved to your My Healthy City homepage showing all saved comments that you have attached to any resource in the My Resource Comments box.
Choose from "edit," "delete," or "go to resource detail" to change your comment, remove it or review the resource listing. V. My Maps Healthy City will save maps you've created for easy access to your common searches, data, and comments on the maps. a. Save a Map At any point on the website after you've created a map, you can click on the "save" icon in the top right corner to save the map results to your My Healthy City homepage.
b. Refer to a Saved Map Click the "go to map" link under the saved map to review your map results. Click on edit or delete to make changes to a saved map.
VI. My Neighborhoods My Healthy City also allows you to draw your own neighborhood boundaries and view resource data by any area created. a. Create a Neighborhood To add a neighborhood, click the "add new" link in the My Neighborhoods box.
You will then see a map with options to create a geography.
Choose a name to label your geography. Select from Census Tract, ZIP Code or City boundaries to draw your neighborhood. Zoom in or out of the map using the plus and minus bar at the top left corner of the map. Click the "move map" option to drag the map to the desired location. Once the map is at your desired extent and location, choose the "One-by-One," "Box: Add" or "Circle: Add" option to begin creating your boundary. Depending on your selection method, either Click on each individual location, draw a box or a circle around the area you want to include in your neighborhood. Your selection will be highlighted on the map and you will see a list of Census Tracts, ZIP Codes or cities corresponding to the selected locations on the bottom left box titles "My Areas."
To remove areas from your selection One-by-One, just click on them a second time to de-select them. Click the "Box: Remove" or "Circle: Remove" option and draw around the specific areas you wish to delete from your selection. If you are satisfied with the list, click VII. My Datasets Add your own datasets to your my Healthy City profile to map resources along with listed Healthy City community services and community characteristic data. a. Upload Your Own Data (SUBJECT TO CHANGE) To add your own data to the website and map it alongside Healthy City data and resources, click on the "add new" link in the My Datasets box. To upload data, files must be in Microsoft Excel or Access database format.
Create a name and description for your file and type it in the corresponding fields so you will recognize it later. Then click "browse" to choose a file from your computer that you want to upload onto your My Healthy City page. Once you've selected your file, click on "upload file." The field headings of your file will be added to the Worksheet setting options in Step 3. Make sure the address column and ZIP Code column are matched with the words "Address" and "ZIP Code" by clicking the arrow and scrolling to select the corresponding word.
Then click on the b. Map Your Resources with Other Healthy City Datasets Now your data is ready to be mapped alongside Healthy City data and resources. Go to the "Services" tab at the top of the page to begin mapping your data. When selecting from a data source you will see "My Datasets" as an option at the bottom of the list of service categories. Click on My Datasets to choose your data and select a geography for the location you want to view.
To map your uploaded data along with other Healthy City demographic and health data, click the "Data" tab at the top of the webpage. First select a data characteristic and location you want to view.
Once you see the map, click on the "change" link under Service Category in the top left box.
Then scroll to the bottom of the list of service categories and choose My Datasets.
The map will show the data characteristic overlaid with your uploaded data points.
VIII. My Health City Groups My Healthy City Groups allows you to network with other Healthy City users within your own agency or collaborate with other agencies. Organizational groups can be made available to all staff members of a particular agency in order to share searches, community profiles, datasets, and comments about resources. Contact Healthy City directly for more information about setting up a Healthy City Group.
